Fiji

General Information About Fiji

Fiji is a country with a chain of 300 islands in the South Pacific. It is famous for rugged landscapes of blue lagoons and palm lined beaches with the adventure of eco­activities from mountain climbing and surfing to soft coral diving and zip lining. Among the group of islands, prominent names are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu where most of the population is settled. Otherwise Fiji is an un­crowded country. The capital of Fiji is Suva where one can visit the Fiji Museum and British colonial landmarks. Suva has broad avenues, lush parks and heritage colonial buildings. A vast range of local fruits and vegetables are available here. Another Major city is Viti Levu which is popular for sand dunes, mountains and Kula Eco Park. It is the largest island of Fiji and the home to the biggest population. It has an airport too. It has Mt.Tomanivi and an extinct volcano. Vanua Levu, the second largest island was earlier known as Sandalwood Island.
